As a kid, I used to do a lot of puzzles. Not because I was smart, but because there was nothing else to do. An aunt left a huge box filled with IQ teasers at our house, and of course, I promptly started doing educa quizzes, puzzles, and the sort.

I don’t believe it’s made me any smarter, but I will say that whenever I take an IQ test, most of the questions are pretty familiar to me. Helps in that respect, definitely.

Ah well. I wish we could just give women flowers all the time. Flowers are easy. A dozen roses? No problem, I can do that. Make me pick out a dress? I’m in a lot of trouble. I guess that’s part of the male Y-chromosome.

I just have to share this:

I have been craving for some fried chicken since last week, but I’ve been denying myself because I’m trying to lose weight. I’ve actually lost a little already, but still a long way off from where I want to be.

Yesterday though, I promised myself I’d get my fix this week, so today I had fried chicken from a local fast food chain. I’ve got to say, the chicken was PERFECT. It was cooked to perfection, tender, juicy, moist (man, this almost sounds sexual), no blood! That’s my kind of chicken. I have almost no regrets that I have barely 500 calories left for dinner. It was that good.

Anyway, I’ll see if I can get some cardio done tonight. After a meal like that, I gotta work some of it off for sure.

The new house’s designs are coming in this last week of April, so the family’s pretty excited. They’re pretty much talking about how they want it to look, what showers to put it, what the kitchen counter will look like, and all those other things I know nothing about. Last night I heard them arguing about which switchplate would look better in the rooms. It’s chaos, I tell you.

But well, if they’re happy, then OK. That’s all that counts. You work so hard all your life, and if obsessing over a new house is your chosen reward, then by all means, go.

Sometimes, I think about opening up a hardware store. We used to own one, back when I was a lot younger. It closed down, but not because it wasn’t profitable. It was just run by an irresponsible family member whom I will not name. Anyway, I think there’s some money to be made. Not a lot, but it will be profitable, and I mean, every little bit helps, right?

Then again, I can’t see myself selling nails, hammers, catches, saws and blades for a living. Tires, yes. Hardware stuff? I’m not as sure. I’ll bring it up with my brother, anyway, just in case.

I found some old videos of my college band. We weren’t that good, but we had some good times. The jamming sessions were the best. One of the members had some pretty awesome guitars. He had a Pro Martin, a Kramer, all sorts of good stuff I can only dream about. Makes me want to go pick up my old guitar and just play.

Then again, I’m an old, ancient man of 27 now. My days of rocking are way behind me. I may be an attention-addicted whore, but I know my limits. Still, can’t hurt to just play a few songs together with friends. You know what they say, chicks dig guitar players.

OK, you all remember I recently blogged about getting back in shape, right? Well, I’m on my 5th day today. The diet is going well, I’ve been working out as per schedule, and I feel pretty good. Not GREAT, but pretty damn good. And I did it all by eating steak, rice, chicken breasts. Not bad, right?

Been thinking about supplementing with some ignite maxx just to get an extra boost, but maybe I won’t need it after all. I guess I’ll find out on Monday’s weigh-in. Decided to weigh in only once a week, same time every week. Hopefully, I can use that to gauge whether or not I’m doing OK, nutrition-wise.

Well, whatever. I don’t really want to get that involved with planning for the house. I mean, I’m happy it’s going to have a gym and a basketball court, but it’s not like I’m going to be living there forever. It’s my folks’ house. They should design it the way they want to. After all, they’re paying for it!

..Seems like the last thing you want to do when trying to get ripped, but that’s exactly what my diet is calling for. I don’t really want to be eating chicken breasts every 3 hours anymore, so this is my new thing. Skip breakfast, get lean like crazy. Any bets?

I can’t wait to be lifting hard and hitting the iron heavy. To lose some serious weight, I need to move some serious weight. It’s way overdue that I start taking care of my body more. I did it when I was younger, and there’s a hell of a lot more reasons to do it now. Like not dying.

I’m thinking about getting some used notebooks for the secretaries. I don’t need them to have Internet access or anything. If those things can run Excel and Word, then I’m good. It’s still a huge step from where we are right now. Let’s see how it all works out.
